MySchoolNews reporting that out of the total joint matriculated students, 1466 were admitted into Degree programmes while 147 were admitted into National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes. The event which took place at Ibrahim Alfa Auditorium on Saturday 29 April 2023 had the Commandant Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Air Vice Marshal Emmanuel Wonah as the Guest of Honour. Before presenting his speech, AVM Wonah commended the Commandant of AFIT Air Vice Marshal Paul Olugbeji Jemitola for acknowledging the dedication of workers of the Institute.
He also appreciated all the staff as he said they all looked very well turned out. In his speech, while congratulating the students, he charged them to do better than other universities in Nigeria who do not have the benefit of their theoretical and practical training. He also urged the students to study carefully the contents of the oath of allegiance they had sworn so as to adhere strictly to them. The Commandant, Air Force Institute of Technology, Air Vice Marshal Paul Olugbeji Jemitola earlier in his remarks encouraged the students to strike a balance between their academics, social and emotional lives while focusing on their goal. This is especially important because certificates are awarded based on learning and character.
The Commandant also reiterated the Institute’s zero stance for cultism, hooliganism, examination malpractice and corruption in any form. He further advised the matriculated students to show respect to the staff and fellow students in order to make their stay fruitful and productive.
