Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic Dissolves Elected Executives on Campus as They Plan for Another Election

This information was released and signed by the Dean, Students Affairs of the Polytechnic, Mr. Emmanuel A Umoh.
The memo read this: “This is to notify all Schools, Departments and Local Government Chapters operating legally on campus that their tenure as elected executive has ended and are hereby directed forthwith. All Deans of Schools and Heads of Departments are to direct students advisers in their respective departments Schools and Departments to set up Electoral board that will conduct elections on or before 28th February, 2024 in line with the provisions of the Students' information handbook and their respective constitutions.
All associations' elections must be conducted before Students Union Government election otherwise such association will not be allowed to participate in the Students Union Government Parliament. Any election conducted without the approval of the Dean Students' Affairs will not be recognized. All elections must be conducted through SECRET BALLOT.

NOTE: Election monitoring team will be set up to ensure free, fair and credible elections and effective compliance with this directive.
