Akwa Ibom State University Releases 2025/2026 Second Semester Academic Calendar

Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) has released the approved academic calendar for the Second Semester of the 2025/2026 academic session, outlining key dates for resumption, registration, lectures, examinations, and student activities.

According to the calendar, academic activities will commence with the arrival of all students on Friday, May 29, 2026.

Key dates in the schedule are as follows:

• Friday, May 29, 2026: Arrival of all students
• Monday, June 1, 2026: Registration of all students begins
• Wednesday, June 3, 2026: Lectures commence for all students
• Friday, July 3, 2026: End of regular registration
• Monday, July 6, 2026: Late registration begins
• Friday, July 31, 2026: End of late registration
• Tuesday, September 15, 2026: Lectures end
• Wednesday, September 16, 2026: Student Week begins
• Friday, September 18, 2026: End of Student Week
• Sunday, September 20, 2026: Interdenominational Service
• Monday, September 21, 2026: Second Semester Examinations begin
• Friday, October 9, 2026: End of Second Semester Examinations
• Saturday, October 10, 2026: Students depart

Academic structure highlights:

• Total lecture period: 15 weeks
• CBT and second semester examinations duration: 2 weeks
• Final year examinations scheduled for morning sessions
• Other sessional examinations to be conducted in the afternoon until completion of final year exams

The university noted that the calendar is designed to ensure smooth academic delivery and effective time management for students and staff.
