Anambra; Governor Soludo Awards ₦4 Million Cash Prizes to Exceptional Students in Academicals Football Cup

In a bid to foster youth development and encourage sportsmanship, Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has awarded a total of ₦4 million in cash rewards to the winners of the 2022 edition of the Academicals Football Cup for primary and secondary schools in the state.

The grand ceremony took place at the Anambra State Sports Development Commission on Thursday, where six exceptional students were singled out for their outstanding performances. The recipients, comprising the best goalkeepers, highest goal scorers, and most valuable players, were each presented with a substantial cash prize of ₦25,000.

According to reports from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the distribution of the cash prizes extended beyond individual achievements. In the male and female U17 categories, the first-place winners were awarded ₦1 million each, while the second-place winners received ₦500,000. Similarly, in the U13 or primary schools category, the first-place recipients were granted ₦500,000, with the second-place winners receiving ₦250,000.

Patrick-Estate Onyedum, Chairman of the Anambra State Sports Development Commission, presided over the ceremony on behalf of Governor Soludo. He extended heartfelt congratulations to the deserving beneficiaries, commending their exemplary dedication to the sport.
