Anambra School Reveals Names of Students Killed by Lightning

Tansian International College, Okpuno, located in the Awka South Local Council area of Anambra, has disclosed the identities of the three students who tragically lost their lives due to a lightning strike while playing football.

In an official press statement signed by Mr. Christian Aburime, Press Secretary to Governor Charles Soludo, the victims were identified as follows: sixteen-year-old Obi Francis Chukwunwuike from Nteje, Anambra; sixteen-year-old Obeta Michael Uchechukwu from Nsukka, Enugu; and nineteen-year-old Usulor Chidubem Emmanuel from Ezza, Ebonyi.

The statement further expressed Governor Soludo's profound condolences to the Tansian International College community, the grieving students, and the families of the deceased students. Governor Soludo, who recently lost his own father at the age of 92, acknowledged the magnitude of the loss to the state and extended his deepest sympathies.

To prevent similar incidents in the future, Governor Soludo earnestly urged students to seek shelter indoors and refrain from outdoor activities when it begins to rain, as lightning can strike without warning.

Meanwhile, Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, the Chairman of United Nigeria Airlines, offered his condolences to Governor Soludo and the entire Soludo family of Umueze village, Isuofia, over the passing of their patriarch, Pa Simeon Nwankwo Soludo (Akudinanwa). Prof. Okonkwo expressed his deepest sympathies and emphasized the indescribable tragedy of losing a parent.
