As NSUK Academic Activities Commence, VC Meets Pioneer Engineering Staff, Promises to Tackle Teething Challenges

The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed has made a solemn pledge to tackle head-on the teething challenges associated with the take-off of the new Faculty Engineering Gudi Campus.

The Vice-Chancellor made the pledge when he and the Principal Officers of the University paid a solidarity visit to the campus on Friday, 20th October 2023.

Professor Suleiman who on arrival at the campus went into a meeting with the staff of the campus stated that management is aware of the challenges encountered by the staff of the Campus noting that steps are being put in place to ensure that they have a conducive working environment and to also ameliorate hardship brought upon by the removal of subsidy.

The Vice-Chancellor also informed the staff of the Faculty that in the course of his working visit to Poland, the University has signed M.O.U's with reputable technical Universities and Polytechnics which will impact positively the Faculty of Engineering. He also assured that Management is working round the clock in conjunction with security outfits to beef up security around and within the campus.

In his remark of welcome, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Emmanuel Kucha thanked the Vice-Chancellor and his management team for the visit, describing it as heartwarming and encouraging. He informed the Vice-Chancellor that lectures have commenced earnestly in the Faculty noting that all the students who are on campus are residents in the hostel.

The Vice-Chancellor also visited the classrooms where he met the students receiving their lectures. He assured them that as pioneer students, their names would be written in gold. He also assured them that he and the principal officers of the University would come and inaugurate them during their matriculation ceremony.

The Vice-Chancellor had an open forum with the students which allowed them to express their concerns to the VC for possible resolution.
