Azura Power West Africa's donation of N604 million worth of solar plants to UNN marks a significant stride in enhancing education and sustainability efforts in Nigeria.
In a groundbreaking move aimed at bolstering education and sustainable energy solutions, Azura Power West Africa Limited has generously donated two plants valued at approximately N604 million to the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), located in Enugu State. This significant contribution falls under the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
During the ceremony held at UNN's Faculty of Engineering, Mr. Edu Okeke, the Managing Director of Azura Power West Africa, emphasized the importance of the initiative in supporting the academic community and promoting education across Nigeria. The donation includes a 240KW solar project and a dedicated car park, designed to enhance academic performance and provide a secure environment conducive to learning and innovation.

Mr. Okeke highlighted the pivotal role of electricity as a fundamental infrastructure and a key driver of productivity. He underscored its significance not only in fostering learning but also in ensuring the safety and security of lives and property within the university premises.
He stated, "Today, at the ground-breaking ceremony of the 240KW solar and car park project at the University of Nigeria Nsukka, we hereby flag off a project under Our Power to Change Programme aimed at providing unlimited and reliable energy, as well as sustainable energy mix to the Faculty of Engineering."
