Professor Abbas thanked the alumni for their generosity, highlighting the significant impact of their donation. He noted that the university had identified 830 students unable to pay their tuition fees, despite efforts by philanthropists and the NEL fund. This donation is part of a larger trend of alumni giving back to Bayero University Kano. Previous donations, such as the N2 million donated by the BUK Class of 1992, demonstrate the commitment of alumni to supporting their alma mater and its students.
