Bayero University Kano Introduces On-Campus Tricycle Service

Bayero University Kano (BUK) has launched an on-campus tricycle service to enhance student mobility and welfare. The initiative, officially introduced by Vice Chancellor Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, aims to provide a safer and more convenient mode of transportation for students and staff.
The tricycle service is designed to alleviate the challenges posed by the vast distances between faculties and departments on the university's New Campus. Accompanied by key university officials, Professor Abbas emphasized BUK's commitment to prioritizing student welfare and security.
"This initiative is part of our broader effort to enhance security and convenience for our students," said Professor Abbas. "We are committed to making our campuses not only academically stimulating but also comfortable and safe for everyone."
The tricycles will operate under strict monitoring and evaluation, with trained drivers adhering to best practices from 7 am to 9 pm daily. The university plans to increase the number of tricycles over time to accommodate demand.
This development follows the university's ban on motorcycles in February 2025 due to security concerns. The introduction of tricycles presents a safer, more structured alternative, ensuring seamless movement across the campus while maintaining the university's reputation for safety and order.
