Bayero University Kano to Host International Conference on Numerical Optimization

The Numerical Optimization Research Group, a renowned international research team based in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Bayero University Kano, has announced plans to host an international conference at the university.

The group, led by Prof. Muhammad Yusuf Waziri, recently visited the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sagir Adamu Abbas, to update him on their activities, achievements, and contributions to the field of numerical optimization.

Prof. Waziri highlighted the group's impressive achievements, including 599 publications, 6,561 Scopus Citations index, and 9,779 Google Scholar Citations index since 2017. The group has also collaborated with international researchers and institutions, including University Utara Malaysia, Putra Malaysia, Thailand, and India.

The proposed international conference, expected to attract 200 participants from national and international research communities, aims to bring together experts in numerical optimization to share knowledge, ideas, and research findings.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sagir Adamu Abbas, expressed his appreciation for the group's achievements, stating that their contributions have significantly impacted the university's ranking. He welcomed the proposal for the international conference, emphasizing the importance of such events in promoting research and academic excellence.
