Benue Bishop Extends Helping Hand: 165 Orphans Receive Scholarships

During the celebration of his birthday at the Ortese Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, Most Rev. Wilfred Anagbe, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Makurdi, announced scholarships for 165 children who lost their parents to herdsmen attacks.
Expressing solidarity with the displaced persons, Bishop Anagbe emphasized the need to support vulnerable communities facing sustained attacks by Fulani herders. He highlighted the destruction of schools, hospitals, and churches in affected communities, underscoring the urgency of addressing the humanitarian crisis.
