Bowen University Unveils Dr. Omotoke Alaba as Best-Graduating MBBS Student
Dr. Omotoke Alaba of Bowen University, Iwo, has emerged as the Best Graduating student of her set during the institution's induction ceremony held on Friday, August 22, 2024.
In a momentous ceremony held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, Bowen University, Iwo, officially unveiled Dr. Omotoke Alaba as the best-graduating student of the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme.
The induction into the medical profession was conducted by the esteemed Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
Dr. Alaba's journey to becoming a medical doctor traces back to her childhood. Fondly nicknamed "small doctor" by her father, she harboured a deep curiosity about the intricacies of the human body. Over time, this curiosity blossomed into a steadfast passion that fueled her commitment to medicine.
Reflecting on her rigorous academic journey, Dr. Alaba acknowledged the intense study culture that defines medical education. "I've always heard about the pressure faced by medical students," she shared. "But it wasn't until I experienced it firsthand that I truly understood its weight." Despite the challenges, Dr. Alaba found solace in the camaraderie of her peers. "Friendships forged during these trying times," she emphasized, "have been my anchor, easing the burden of stress."
