In a notable recognition of commitment and support, the Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University Kano (BUK) has been awarded by the 56th Student Union Government (SUG) for his active dedication to the student body. This honor was announced at a recent meeting between the SUG and the Vice-Chancellor.

During the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor praised the SUG President, known as Aluta Professor, describing him as one of the most capable SUG Presidents he has encountered. In recognition of their outstanding efforts and initiatives, the Vice-Chancellor awarded the SUG, acknowledging their significant contributions to supporting students.

Additionally, the Vice-Chancellor announced an extension of the registration deadline by 17 days. He assured students who have applied for loans and paid their school fees that their payments would be refunded to their accounts. This decision aims to provide additional support and alleviate financial pressures on students.

In a further boost to student funding, the Vice-Chancellor revealed that NELFund has increased the financial support for BUK students by ₦200 million, bringing the total amount available to ₦1 billion. This significant increase is expected to greatly benefit the student community.
