Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR), on Wednesday December 6th, urged the Osun State government to quickly implement recommendations made at its 2023 education summit.

Osun State held a three-day education summit from August 22 to August 24, 2023, where the group’s Executive Director, Emmanuel Olowu, stated in Osogbo that the group submitted its contribution to the education summit with the title, “Science education is in a state of comatose.’’

He added that the contribution aimed at repositioning science education in Osun to meet world standards.

“We are glad that our document played a significant role in the recommendations of the summit to advance the education sector in the state,’’ he added.

Mr Olowu noted that the education summit’s report had been delayed for three months after the committee led by Prof. Oyesoji Aremu presented the report and recommendations to the state government.

He urged the Osun government to expedite action on the production of a white paper at the summit to lay the foundation for the implementation of the recommendations made.
