College of Education Akwanga SUG Takes Stand Against Protests, Calls for Unity Amid Insecurity

Under the leadership of Comrade Muhammad Mustapha Umbugu, the President of the Students’ Union Government (S.U.G), the executive team recently met with key local figures, including the Chairman of Akwanga Local Government and the Royal Highness Chomada. The meeting brought together security personnel and stakeholders from various associations within Akwanga Local Government to discuss pressing challenges affecting both students and the community. The discussions focused on various issues, particularly the protests and insecurity that have been affecting the college campuses and the larger Akwanga community.

In response to the rising concerns, Comrade Umbugu took the opportunity to remind students of the importance of safety and security. He urged all students to exercise caution by adhering to the following guidelines:

1. Say no to protests.

2. Avoid night movements.

3. Ensure doors are always locked, especially at night.

4. Know your visitors and those entering the campus.

Comrade Umbugu emphasized that the security of students, as well as their lives and property, should be a top priority for any responsible leader. He stated, “Without security on our campuses, we cannot thrive as a community.”
