COOU Management Honors Igwe Dr. Oranu Chris Chidume at Iwa Ji Festival

The Management of COOU recently honored Igwe Dr. Oranu Chris Chidume, the traditional ruler of Omor Kingdom, during the Iwa Ji festival. Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha praised Igwe Chidume for his dedication to education and his impact beyond cultural boundaries. The event was attended by key university officials, who also expressed appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of the Omor community.

On Saturday, August 24, 2024, the Acting Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, led the university's management team in celebrating the Iwa Ji festival alongside Igwe Dr. Oranu Chris Chidume, the traditional ruler of Omor Kingdom and a member of the university's Governing Council. 

The event, held in honor of Igwe Dr. Chidume, featured prominent figures from the university, including Deputy Vice Chancellors Prof. Mathias Ananti and Prof. Osita Chiaghanam, University Registrar Sir Chris Obi, Acting Bursar Dr. Nath Udezo, Acting Librarian Dr. Uchechukwu Enweani, Dean of Postgraduate Studies Prof. M.N. Chendo, JUPEB Director Prof. Anselm Nweke, Deputy Registrar Mrs. Ngozi Onuorah, and Public Relations Officer Dr. Harrison Madubueze.

In her address, Prof. Omenugha lauded Igwe Dr. Chidume for his outstanding contributions as a technocrat and his profound commitment to education, which she said extends beyond cultural boundaries to make a global impact. She emphasized that his dedication serves as an inspiration for the university and highlighted the rich cultural heritage of the Omor community as a model for preserving traditions.
