Council of Legal Education Conducts Accreditation Visit to Ajayi Crowther University; DG Commends Graduate Performance
A high-powered delegation from the Council of Legal Education, led by the Director-General of the Nigerian Law School, Dr. Olugbemisola Odusote, arrived at Ajayi Crowther University (ACU) on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, for a comprehensive accreditation exercise of the institution’s Faculty of Law.
The visit focused on evaluating the faculty's infrastructure, the quality of pedagogical delivery, and the adequacy of learning resources to ensure they meet the rigorous standards required for legal education in Nigeria.
During the exercise, Dr. Odusote lauded the consistent performance of ACU law graduates at the Nigerian Law School. She noted that their track record serves as a testament to the quality of the faculty’s staff and the institution's commitment to academic rigour.
“Periodic accreditation is essential to safeguard students and maintain prescribed standards,” Dr. Odusote stated, promising an objective assessment and constructive feedback to the University Management.
Welcoming the team, the Vice-Chancellor of ACU, Professor Ebunoluwa Oduwole, highlighted the faculty's history as a foundational pillar of the university. She expressed deep gratitude to Chief Modupe and Folorunso Alakija for their generous donation of the faculty’s landmark building.
Professor Oduwole formally requested a review of the faculty's admission quota, emphasizing the university's deliberate efforts to expand its capacity while maintaining excellence.
Following a tour of the campus, Dr. Odusote praised the university's "well-laid-out landscape" and aesthetic environment. While offering expert advice on specific areas for further strengthening, the delegation confirmed that a formal report of their observations would be submitted to the Council.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed optimism regarding the outcome, stating that ACU is prepared to implement all recommendations to further elevate the Faculty of Law’s standing.
The reception featured the University’s Principal Officers and the Dean of Law, Professor Olanrewaju Onadeko, SAN. The visiting Council team included Ms. Aderonke Osho (Secretary to the Council), Mr. Gambo Mohammed Gujba, and Dr. Chinonso Mmuozoba (DDG, Port Harcourt Campus), among others.
