Covenant University and Partners Launch Prostate Cancer Awareness and Screening Programme

In observance of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month 2024, Covenant University's Covenant Applied Informatics and Communication, Africa Centre of Excellence (CApIC-ACE), in partnership with the Prostate Cancer Transatlantic Consortium (CApTC) and Beulah World Initiative, is set to host a comprehensive Prostate Cancer Awareness and Screening programme. This significant health initiative will take place on Monday, September 30, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Adodo-Ota Local Government Area Headquarters in Ota, Ogun State.

The programme is part of the global observance of International Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, aimed at raising awareness about prostate cancer, promoting prevention, and encouraging early detection. The event will feature a range of activities, including:

• Knowledge Assessments: Participants will be evaluated on their understanding of prostate cancer and its risk factors.
• Information Dissemination: Educational resources will be shared, focusing on prostate cancer awareness and prevention.
• Free Screening: Attendees will receive prostate cancer screenings to detect potential early signs of the disease.

The event will be led by prominent health professionals, including Prof. Emeka Iweala from CApIC-ACE at Covenant University, and Ms. Chinonye Onwubiko from Prostate Cancer Transatlantic Consortium and Beulah World Initiative. Their expertise will ensure that participants gain vital health insights and receive valuable services.
