Leading the hospital’s representation was the Chief Medical Administrator (C-MAC), Dr. Darlington-Peter Ugoji, who participated in the international training programme facilitated by the Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN) in partnership with TGS Learning UK.
According to Agwu Nwogo Jnr., Public Relations Officer, DUFUTH, the UK tour was designed to expose senior administrators from federal and state institutions to global best practices in leadership, systems management, and quality improvement.
The intensive sessions covered key areas including system thinking, quality improvement methodologies, effective presentation techniques, and compassionate leadership. Participants were equipped with practical frameworks to enhance performance and drive institutional excellence.

Highlights of the training included:
- System Thinking for Change Management: Participants explored how leaders can draw inspiration from team members and end-users to create sustainable organizational change.
- Quality Improvement Methodologies: Emphasis was placed on developing flexible, adaptive strategies aligned with institutional goals.

Dr. Ugoji described the experience as “transformative,” noting that lessons from the programme will directly inform DUFUTH’s internal leadership and service delivery strategies.
