The Ebonyi State Staff Association (ESSA), Federal Polytechnic Oko chapter, has praised Rector Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie for her purposeful leadership and the infrastructural developments recorded under her administration.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Rector on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, ESSA chairman Mr. Linus Nwachukwu lauded the revival of key facilities such as the school printing press, the Poly water and Poly bread factory, noting that these achievements within her first 100 days in office showed she “came prepared.”

The association also commended her efforts in fostering peace, love, and unity within the institution, saying both staff and students could feel the positive impact of her leadership.

In her response, Dr. Awuzie welcomed the delegation on behalf of the management and expressed delight that harmony had returned to the Polytechnic. She urged those still holding on to divisions to join hands with her in moving the institution forward.

“The race to my emergence as the substantive Rector of this Polytechnic should be a big lesson to all of us that it is God who chooses leaders,” she said. “I thank God for the peace and unity that have returned. Let us realise that we are one and begin to think of how to move this institution forward.”
