The Vice-Chancellor of Emmanuel Alayande University has celebrated the Pioneer Registrar of the University on her 60th University.

The Vice-Chancellor of Emmanuel Alayande University of Education in Oyo, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan, joined the Asunmo family in celebrating the 60th birthday of Mrs. Olubunmi Siju' Asunmo, the pioneer Registrar of the University. 

Following the upgrade of the college to university status, Mrs. Asunmo was appointed Acting Registrar on August 30, 2023. Her exemplary performance led to her confirmation as the pioneer Registrar and Secretary to Council on April 2, 2024, for a 5-year term.

In his congratulatory message, Professor Olaniyan quoted Romans 9:16, emphasizing that Mrs. Asunmo's achievements are not solely due to her efforts but also a result of divine mercy. He expressed gratitude on behalf of the Council Chairman, Professor Ayoade Olayiwola Ogunkunle, the Senate, university management, staff, and students. The Vice-Chancellor prayed for continued strength in her service to God, the state, and the nation.

Mrs. Olubunmi Siju Asunmo, began her career at Emmanuel Alayande College of Education (formerly St. Andrew’s College of Education) in Oyo as an Administrative Officer II on January 1, 1990. Her educational journey included studies at Iwo Grammar School, Baptist High School (Iwo), and the University of Ibadan, where she earned a B.Ed. in Educational Management and Religious Studies in 1987. She later obtained an M.Ed. in Educational Management from the same institution.

During her tenure, Mrs. Asunmo served in various divisions of the Registry Department, including the Registrar’s Office, School Office, Academic Affairs Division, Council Affairs Unit, and Pension and Gratuity. She also held the position of Assistant Director Admin. (Sandwich) at the defunct College Directorate of Degree and Sandwich Programmes.
