The borderless nature of music was celebrated on Monday, October 14, 2024, at an Erasmus Music Workshop hosted by the Mountain Top Conservatory of Music, Onike, Lagos. The event, organized by the Music Unit of the Department of Creative Arts, University of Lagos (UNILAG), featured top music scholars from Palermo's Conservatorio di Musica “Alessandro Scarlatti,” Italy, alongside local performers and students.

Head of UNILAG’s Creative Arts Department, Prof. Stephen Olusoji, praised the Erasmus+ programme for providing students with an invaluable learning experience at no cost, calling it a noble initiative fostering cultural exchange. The workshop, aimed at blending African and Italian musical traditions, was part of the Mediterranean Music Movement. Dr. Florence Nweke, a project facilitator, emphasized the workshop's focus on international collaboration and the positive impact of music on well-being.

The workshop featured performances, including a piano recital by Professor Gianfranco Pappalardo, and lectures on European and Latin American musical traditions. Dr. D. K. Olukoya, represented by Pastor (Dr.) Samuel Oloyede of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, pledged continued support for future cultural collaborations.
