FEC Mourns Former Education Minister, Fabian Osuji

The Federal Executive Council (FEC), represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, has expressed condolences on the passing of the former Minister of Education, Prof. Fabian Ngozichukwu Chinedum Osuji, at the age of 82.

Prof. Osuji served as the Minister of Education during the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, where he played a significant role in initiating policies that positively impacted the education sector.

In a statement signed by the Director of Information, Segun Imohiosen, the SGF described Prof. Osuji as a seasoned politician and a distinguished scholar, highlighting his dedication to humanity and his contributions to the development of university education in Nigeria through policy formulation, research, and publications.

Senator Akume extended heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Imo State, Prof. Osuji's immediate family, and prayed for the repose of his soul.
