Federal Government Reassures Colleges of Education on IPPIS Exit Implementation

Federal Government Reassures Colleges of Education on IPPIS Exit Implementation

The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to faithfully implementing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's directive on the exit of staff from tertiary institutions from the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System (IPPIS) platform. This assurance was given by the Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, during a meeting with the leadership of the Committee of Provosts of Colleges of Education in Nigeria.

The minister, in a statement by the director of press and public relations, Ben Bem Goong, emphasized that the Federal Ministry of Education would do everything within the ambit of the law to facilitate the full implementation of the presidential directive affecting tertiary institutions in the country.

The move is seen as an attempt to create industrial harmony, as the ongoing disagreement between the Federal Government and staff unions has disrupted the smooth running of the institutions. The directive aims to remove staff of public universities and other tertiary institutions from the IPPIS payment platform.
