Federal Polytechnic Bauchi Adjusts Academic Calendar for 2023/2024 First Semester

The Office of the Director of Academic Planning at the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi has released an adjusted academic calendar for the 2023/2024 first semester. This revised schedule outlines key dates for academic activities, meetings, examinations, and public holidays for students and faculty members.

The semester begins with registration for the 2023/2024 session, scheduled for Friday, November 1, 2023. The calendar specifies departmental, school board, and academic board meetings, with the first departmental board meeting set for Monday, November 20. Lectures for non-SIWES (Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme) students commence on Monday, November 27, followed by the start of lectures for SIWES students on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

Holidays include Christmas on December 25, Boxing Day on December 26, and New Year’s Day on January 1. The first class test will take place in January, with exact dates to be confirmed. The first semester examinations are set to begin on Monday, April 29, 2024, and are expected to conclude by Friday, May 10.

Ramadan fasting and religious holidays are acknowledged in the calendar, with adjustments made for Good Friday, Easter Monday, and Eid al-Fitr. The auditing exercise for this semester is planned to run from Wednesday, May 1 to May 29. The academic board meeting to consider first semester examination results is scheduled for a later date in May, marking the official close of the semester.
