Federal University of Education Zaria Conducts 3-Day Skills Acquisition Training for Empowerment

The Federal University of Education, Zaria (FUEZ), organized a three-day Skills Acquisition training aimed at empowering participants to become self-reliant and successful entrepreneurs. The Acting Vice Chancellor, Dr. Suleiman Balarabe, represented by Dr. Haliru Musa, encouraged participants to embrace the opportunity and aspire to become employers of labor.

The Directorate of Skills Acquisition and Linkages at the Federal University of Education, Zaria (FUEZ), has successfully organized a three-day Skills Acquisition training at the university's boardroom. The event, designed to equip participants with the necessary skills for self-reliance and entrepreneurship, drew attention from key academic and administrative figures within the institution.

In his address, the Acting Vice Chancellor of FUEZ, Dr. Suleiman Balarabe, who was represented by the Director of Academic Planning, Dr. Haliru Musa, congratulated the participants on their selection for the program. He urged them to seize the opportunity and consider themselves fortunate to be equipped to become employers of labor rather than job seekers. Dr. Haliru also expressed his gratitude to the organizers for bringing in professionals to impart valuable knowledge in the field of skills development.

Dr. Mrs. Amina Sani, the Director of Skills Acquisition and Linkages, delivered the welcome address. She thanked the Vice Chancellor and the university management for providing a conducive environment that facilitated the successful execution of the training. She further encouraged the participants to be attentive and dedicated to gaining valuable insights for embarking on successful business ventures.

In his brief remarks, the Deputy Registrar of FUEZ, Mal A. A. Galadima, commended the Directorate of Skills Acquisition and Linkages for organizing the training. He also advised the participants to embrace values such as integrity, obedience, and patience, emphasizing that these attributes are essential for thriving in entrepreneurship.

The training also featured a comprehensive session by Eng. Usman Ibrahim Gano, Deputy Director of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF). Representing the Director-General and CEO of ITF, Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin O., Eng. Gano provided an in-depth discussion on the concept of entrepreneurship. He elaborated on the crucial steps needed to foster creativity, innovation, and successful business ventures. Eng. Gano concluded by stressing that entrepreneurship is both challenging and rewarding, requiring thorough market analysis, adequate financial resources, and effective technological management.
