Federal University Wukari Releases Urgent notice to staff and students

In an effort to cushion the effects of high cost of living, occasioned by the removal of subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) petrol by the Federal Government of Nigeria, and in a bid to alleviate the sufferings of staff and students, the Vice Chancellor has approved the following palliatives to staff and students.

1. PROVISION OF BUSES:

FUWUKARI notice to staff and students on provision of palliatives

Buses would be provided with effect from Thursday August 3rd, 2023 for conveyance of Staff and Students to and fro the University campus. The bus service would be free of charge for the first month and subsequently at a subsidized rate (to be determined later upon successful management of the buses in the first month).

The buses would operate as described below:

A. Route 1: Takum junction -Yam market- Timber shade.

B. Route 2: Ambassador Roundabout - Ibi Roundabout - Prison Quarters.

C. Route 3: T. Junction, General Hospital Zenith Bank DSK Foundation.

Please be informed that the morning take-off time is 7.00am prompt, while return time is 4.00pm prompt. The buses which are meant to convey both staff and students, would ply the routes twice in the morning and twice in the evening only.

II. STAFF QUARTERS RENT WAIVER:

in the same vein, the Vice Chancellor has approved free rent for Staff living in the Staff Quarters for a period of Six months, commencing from September, 2023 to February, 2024.

Management would review these welfare packages from time to time, pending the provision of palliatives and/or upward salary adjustment by the Federal Government.

Members of Staff are enjoined to take advantage of this kind gesture by Management, and reciprocate it by rendering commensurate value-adding services.
