Female Student Sentenced to Six Years in Prison for Phone Theft in Borno

A magistrates’ court in Maiduguri, Borno State, has sentenced Balkisu Baba Shehu, a female student, to six years in prison for stealing a phone. The verdict was delivered by Magistrate Alhaji Saleh Isa.

Balkisu Baba Shehu pleaded guilty when the charges were read, leading to her sentencing. The Magistrate imposed a seven-year prison term with an alternative of a N100,000 fine and compensation of N70,000.
