First Lady and TETfund to Implement Interventions in Tertiary Institutions

The First Lady of Nigeria, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, has disclosed plans for collaborative efforts between her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) and the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETfund) to address developmental challenges in tertiary institutions nationwide.
Speaking during a quarterly meeting with the Wives of Governors from all 36 states at the State House, Abuja, Mrs. Tinubu revealed that the initiative, spearheaded by TETfund's Executive Secretary, Sonny Echono, aims to alleviate various hardships faced by tertiary institutions.

The interventions are set to encompass scholarship support for students and the development of essential social amenities, among other initiatives. Mrs. Tinubu emphasized the significance of these interventions in fostering conducive learning environments that align with international standards.
Furthermore, Mrs. Tinubu urged the wives of governors, who also serve as RHI state coordinators, to ensure the equitable distribution of free gifts and support provided by the initiative, particularly to residents in rural areas.
Highlighting the scope of the TETfund intervention, Mrs. Tinubu called for the nomination of one tertiary institution from each state to benefit from infrastructural improvements, scholarship donations, and the enhancement of ICT facilities.
The collaborative efforts between RHI and TETfund represent a concerted approach to addressing critical needs within Nigeria's tertiary education sector, with a focus on enhancing accessibility and quality.
