First NSUK Vice-Chancellor Professor Adieu   Reportedly Died

It is with sadness that myschoolnews.ng confirm the passing of Professor Adamu Baikie, the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK). He died at the age of 94 on Friday evening, December 12, 2025, at his residence in Zaria, Kaduna State. 

Professor Baikie was a world-renowned educationist and scholar, recognized as the first Professor of Education in Northern Nigeria. He was instrumental in building NSUK "from scratch into a world-standard citadel of learning". His legacy as an administrator and statesman is widely respected throughout the Nigerian academic community.
