 On Tuesday, the newly inaugurated Governing Council of Federal University Lokoja (FUL), chaired by the distinguished Pro-Chancellor Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, made a significant visit to the Kogi State Government at the Government House in Lokoja. The visit marked the beginning of a new phase of collaboration and engagement between the university and the state government.

The Governing Council, along with members of the University Management, was warmly welcomed by the Kogi State Government. Due to the absence of Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, who was unavailable, the delegation was received by the Kogi State Head of Service, Mr. Elijah Adeiza Evinemi, and other senior government officials.

Senator Ndoma-Egba expressed his gratitude to the State Government for fostering an environment conducive to the university's growth and success.   • Compensation for Host Community: Senator Ndoma-Egba urged the State Government to expedite the payment of long-overdue compensation to the host community that provided land for the university’s establishment.
  • Land Title Documents: The Pro-Chancellor requested the provision of land title documents to support the university’s continued expansion and development.

In response, the Governor, represented by Mr. Evinemi, assured the Governing Council of the State Government's commitment to addressing the issues raised. The Governor acknowledged the importance of education and expressed willingness to support the university's growth. He also commended Vice-Chancellor Professor Olayemi Akinwumi for his exemplary leadership and the developmental strides made under his tenure despite various challenges.

During the visit, Professor Akinwumi praised Senator Ndoma-Egba’s appointment as the Chairman of the Governing Council.
