Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has officially released the schedule for its 8th Convocation Ceremony, celebrating the achievements of graduands from the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic sessions. The week-long ceremony will take place from Monday, October 21, to Sunday, October 27, 2024, and will include a series of activities aimed at recognizing academic and honorary achievements.

The ceremony will begin with a press conference led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi, followed by a colloquium in honor of Professor Olu Obafemi. Throughout the week, key events include a research fair and exhibition, a convocation lecture, a convocation play, and the main convocation ceremony where first degrees, higher degrees, diplomas, and prizes will be awarded.

The convocation events will end with an inter-denominational thanksgiving service on October 27, 2024.

Graduands are advised to check their graduation status on the university website and make necessary payments for convocation materials, which include academic gowns. Fees for undergraduate graduands are set at N20,000, while postgraduate graduands are required to pay N30,000. Ph.D. candidates must purchase their academic gowns at a cost of N120,000.

Participation in the academic procession and adherence to the university's dress code are mandatory for all attending graduands. Graduands must ensure that they return academic gowns by Tuesday, October 29, 2024, to avoid fines.
