FULafia College of Medicine Conducts Strategic Training on TETFund NRF Proposal Development

The College of Medicine, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), has organised an in-house training on the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) National Research Fund (NRF) proposal development for its academic staff.

The training targeted investigators from the college of medicine whose concept notes were, recently, approved under the TETFund NRF scheme. 

The training was designed to strengthen participants’ capacity to develop comprehensive research proposals that meet TETFund’s standards and expectations.

In his remarks, the Deputy Provost of the College of Medicin, FULafia, Prof. Ishaku Bako, who represented the provost, Prof. Ali Ishaq Shugaba, said the training aimed at improving the quality and competitiveness of research proposals submitted by staff.

Facilitators highlighted key areas such as quality proposal writing, clarity of research objectives, methodological rigour, budget justification and alignment with national research priorities.

Participants were also guided on common pitfalls to avoid during submission and evaluation.

The interactive session allowed investigators to engage experts, seek clarification and refine their proposals ahead of submission.

Facilitators at the training included Prof. Mustapher Imam, Dr Usman Yohanna and Prof. Amos Ambo.
