The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has made a remarkable achievement by topping the Zone 'I' NUGA elimination tournament held at Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University (JOSTUM) in Makurdi.

The university's athletes secured over 14 qualification tickets to the Nigerian University Games (NUGA) scheduled for the University of Jos from November 6 to 16, 2025.

FULafia's dominance in track events yielded qualification tickets in various categories, including 100m, 200m, 400m, and 4x100m relay for both men and women. The university also secured qualification tickets in long jump, chess, table tennis, scrabble, badminton, and judo.
