FULAFIA VC Cautions Against Academic Arrogance, Advocates for Humility and Lifelong Learning
Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), has emphasized the need for academics to embrace humility and lifelong learning, warning that the era of academic arrogance is over.

Speaking at the Faculty of Science Workshop, Interactive Session, and Paper Presentation, Abdul Rahman cautioned against undue confidence and emphasized the importance of approachability, simplicity, and a thirst for knowledge.
He noted that education has become more widespread and complex, requiring scholars to work harder to stay updated. The Vice-Chancellor specifically addressed senior scholars, including professors, urging them to be well-rounded and knowledgeable beyond their areas of specialization.

Abdul Rahman also criticized poor teaching methods, warning that they compromise the quality of education in Nigerian universities. He advocated for mentorship, encouraging younger academics to seek guidance from their senior colleagues.

The event, held at the MIS Multi-Purpose Hall, Permanent Site Campus of FULafia, focused on the topic "Rules for the Conduct of University Examinations."
