As part of efforts aimed at strengthening the mutual bond among the staff of Federal University Lokoja, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi has officially unveiled the Senior Staff Club of the University for recreation and relaxation purposes, while balancing staff social and work life for efficiency and greater productivity.

Following the official opening, the Vice-Chancellor along with other Management and Senior Staff of the University were conducted round the facilities and services offered by the Club.
The Vice-Chancellor who expressed satisfaction over the new facility thanked the Committee for the timely completion of the project. Professor Akinwumi highlighted some of the benefits that registered members stand to enjoy and charged the interim executive to be creative and explore other innovative areas of utilization for the benefit of members.
He added that efforts were already in place to build a bigger facility at the University's main campus (Permanent Site), while calls for the establishment of the Junior Staff Club would be looked into soon to provide one for them. The VC noted that the Staff Club if properly managed, would stand out and compete favourably among its equals in other institutions/organizations in the not-too-distant future.
The Vice-Chancellor went further to inaugurate the pro tem committee, chaired by Dr Jeremiah Ayok, to oversee the activities and running of the Club and charged them to immediately draft a constitution that will guide its operations.

In his address, Dr Ayok thanked the University Management for giving his committee the maximum support in carrying out the task of establishing and managing the Senior Staff Club which has come into reality. The Club President equally expressed gratitude to Godec Power, the company that gave the clubhouse (old staff lounge) its new look, while promising quality service delivery.
During the auspicious ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor received an Award of Excellence from the Youth Advocacy for Good Governance in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the development of FUL which was presented by its National Coordinator, Comrade Christian Odaiba.

The FULokoja Senior Staff is open to only registered members which include all senior staff members of the University (academic and non-teaching) as well as non-staff or outsiders with reputable character.
