The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), recently hosted a two-day Capacity Building Workshop aimed at enhancing the professional skills of its academic staff. The workshop, which spanned June 25 to June 26, 2024, saw participation from Graduate Assistants to Senior Lecturers, reflecting FUNAAB's commitment to continuous staff development under its current administration.

Dr. Oluwagbemiga Adeleye, Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) UNAAB Branch, expressed satisfaction with the initiative during the Opening Ceremony. He underscored the workshop's significance in equipping new entrants and fostering academic principles among staff members, emphasizing the importance of unity and understanding within the academic community.

Acknowledging the support of FUNAAB's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, Dr. Adeleye praised the administration for approving and facilitating the workshop. Prof. Kehinde, in turn, lauded the foundational efforts of the university's pioneers and past leaders, urging current staff to prioritize comprehensive personal and professional growth.

The workshop featured notable guest speakers including Prof. Steve Afolami and Prof. Christian Ikeobi. Prof. Afolami delivered insights on "Academic Freedom and its Limitations," highlighting its relevance in contemporary academia, while Prof. Ikeobi delved into the "Culture of Teaching, Examination, and Results Preparation," enriching participants' perspectives on educational practices.
