In a strategic move to bolster agricultural research and knowledge dissemination, the Nimbe Adedipe Library (NAL) at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has embarked on a collaborative venture with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA). This initiative aims to significantly improve research output and access to valuable resources in the agricultural sector.

A delegation from NAL, led by Mr. Akinkumi Omotosho and accompanied by Mr. Kehinde Bamigbose and Mrs. Chiemenem Chioma, recently visited the IITA Library. They were warmly received by Mr. Soji Oloyede, the IITA Librarian, who expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. Mr. Oloyede highlighted IITA’s commitment to establishing a comprehensive information database to facilitate knowledge sharing among agricultural institutions.

Dr. Abayomi Owolabi, FUNAAB’s University Librarian, was commended for promoting information accessibility for researchers. As part of the collaboration, FUNAAB students and staff members are invited to utilize the IITA Library for research purposes upon presentation of their university identification cards.

The partnership between NAL and IITA aims to foster collaboration in various areas, including librarian training, exchange of research publications, donation of library resources, and broader knowledge sharing initiatives.
