House Bill 833 has successfully passed its second reading, paving the way for the establishment of the Federal College of Education, Oke-Oyi, in Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State. This significant development in education was made possible by Hon. Ahmed Yinka Aluko, PhD, who sponsored the bill and represents the Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency.

During the plenary session on October 24, 2024, Hon. Mukhtar Tolani Shagaya, representing the Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency, seconded the motion in favor of the bill. Now, the bill moves forward to the Committee on Federal Colleges and Institutions for further consideration, marking a crucial step toward enhancing educational opportunities in the region.
