Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) is exploring a partnership with cooperative societies to develop on-campus staff housing, announced Vice-Chancellor Prof. Babatunde Kehinde during a workshop organized by the ASUU-UNAAB Multipurpose Cooperative Society. The workshop, themed "Financial Management in a Critical Economic Space," was held at the university's 1,000 Capacity Lecture Theatre.

Prof. Kehinde, represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kola Adebayo, underscored the university's commitment to enhancing staff welfare amid challenges such as transportation and security concerns faced by commuting staff. He emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts with cooperatives to facilitate the construction of residential facilities on campus.
Guest speaker Dr. Adewale Onadeko, a FUNAAB alumnus and financial management expert, delivered insights on navigating economic challenges. He advocated for diversified income sources and strategic financial planning to mitigate inflationary impacts, urging cooperative members to consider investments in bonds, land, and buildings for additional income streams.
Dr. Samuel Olabanji, Director of the Directorate of Sports, encouraged participants to engage in physical activities like the university's "Walk for Life" program to maintain good health, essential for financial well-being. Dr. Oluseyi Anjorin, Director of Health Services, emphasized the importance of regular medical check-ups, proper diet, hydration, and stress management for overall health.

The workshop also featured sessions on nutrition, with Dr. Catherine Oladoyinbo highlighting the significance of balanced diets rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases among lecturers.
Prof. Adebukunola Omemu, President of the ASUU-UNAAB Multipurpose Cooperative Society, expressed gratitude to the university management for supporting the workshop aimed at equipping members with financial management skills amidst economic uncertainties. The event concluded with medical check-ups for attendees, reinforcing the importance of health in achieving professional excellence.
