The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has announced a new directive prohibiting the use of cab or tricycle “drop” services during rush hours, citing increased congestion and long queues as major concerns.

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has announced a new directive prohibiting the use of cab or tricycle “drop” services during rush hours, citing increased congestion and long queues as major concerns.

According to the SUG, the growing practice of hiring cabs or tricycles for personal use, especially during peak periods, has worsened traffic flow and delayed transportation for many students.

To address this, the Union is working in collaboration with the Nigeria Safety Cadet, FUNAAB Command, to monitor the situation a major junctions and ensure compliance with the directive. Their presence, the SUG stated, will help maintain order and ease the flow of movement during busy hours.

Students are advised to arrive at the park early to secure transportation, particularly those with classes scheduled for 9:00 a.m. The Union appealed for cooperation and understanding from the student body, stressing that the directive was necessary to create a smoother and more equitable transportation experience for all.
