FUNAAB to Hold Commendation Service for Late Prof. Ademuyiwa, Who died in Hit and Run accident
The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) will hold a Commendation Service on February 27, 2025, to honor the late Prof. Oladipo Ademuyiwa, a distinguished scholar in Biochemical Toxicology.

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has announced plans to hold a Commendation Service in honor of the late Prof. Oladipo Ademuyiwa, a distinguished scholar from the Department of Biochemistry, College of Biosciences (COLBIOS). The event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the Prof. Oluwafemi Balogun Ceremonial Building, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The Commendation Service will provide an opportunity for colleagues, students, family, and friends to pay tribute to the late professor, who was widely recognized for his expertise in Biochemical Toxicology and his significant contributions to the field of Biochemistry.
Prof. Ademuyiwa was a respected academic whose research and dedication to excellence earned him numerous prestigious awards throughout his career. His accolades included the Obafemi Awolowo University Postgraduate Fellowship Award (1987/1988), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Scholarship Award (April 1991 – May 1995), the DAAD Fellowship Award (April 2003 – June 2003), and the CSIR-TWAS Postdoctoral Fellowship Award (August 2006 – July 2007), among many others.
His passing is a profound loss to FUNAAB and the academic community. However, his legacy of scholarship, mentorship, and commitment to academic excellence will continue to inspire future generations.
The university community and the general public are invited to attend the Commendation Service as a mark of respect and to celebrate the impactful life of Prof. Ademuyiwa.
