The UK Alumni Association from the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUTA) extended their annual social responsibility initiative by providing food aid to financially disadvantaged students before the start of the examination period.

The Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Alumni Association United Kingdom (UK) Branch recently demonstrated its commitment to social responsibility by providing food aid to indigent students ahead of the examination period. The initiative aimed to alleviate the challenges faced by financially-disadvantaged students amidst Nigeria's prevailing economic downturn.

During a distribution ceremony held at the Alumni Secretariat, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Development, Prof. Kola Adebayo, expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from the Alumni towards both students and the University. He stressed the importance of ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder students from achieving academic excellence, likening the assistance received to planting seeds for future benefits.

Highlighting the significance of the event, the Vice-Chancellor commended the UK Branch of the Alumni for their generous contribution to student welfare. The Global President, Mr. Bolaji Gbadamosi, congratulated the selected beneficiaries and expressed gratitude to the UK Branch for their philanthropy, attributing their spirit of giving to the exemplary leadership of past National Alumni leaders. He encouraged students to remain focused on their studies and strive for academic excellence.

The distribution included the provision of food packs to each beneficiary, a gesture warmly acknowledged by Mr. Akeem Akinboro, a 400-Level student, on behalf of the recipients. Dignitaries present at the event included the Dean of Student Affairs, represented by Mr. Bright Obirinwosi, and Mrs. Bolanle Olaleye, representing the Head of the Guidance and Counseling Unit. Additionally, Global Executives of the Alumni Association, including the Alumni Desk Officer, Dr. Folasade Akinde, were in attendance, highlighting the collective effort to support students in need.
