FUNAAB VC Charges HoDs on Transformative Leadership

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, has tasked Heads of Departments (HoDs) with embracing transformative leadership.

He described HoDs as critical to the university's sustained growth and excellence, emphasizing their central role in ensuring departmental vibrancy and institutional progress.

The charge was made during the opening ceremony of a 2-Day Retreat for HoDs, themed "Transformative University Administration in Contemporary Times." The retreat, which commenced on August 25, 2025, aims to foster synergy and administrative efficiency among HoDs.

Prof. Kehinde urged HoDs to nurture their departments into hubs of academic and research productivity, anchored on integrity, equity, and fair play. He also encouraged them to mobilize colleagues towards quality research proposals.

Other key presentations at the retreat included discussions on financial regulations, prudent fund management, and updates on the university library's latest ranking and facilities.
