The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, will deliver the keynote address at the 2024 Colloquium organized by the Ogun State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, will deliver the keynote address at the 2024 Colloquium organized by the Ogun State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR). The event is scheduled for October 3, 2024, at the June 12 Cultural Centre in Kuto, Abeokuta, commencing at 10 a.m.

The colloquium, themed "Galvanising Public and Private Stakeholders Towards Addressing Food Crisis in Nigeria: Public Relations as a Key Driver," will bring together experts, stakeholders, and thought leaders to discuss the strategic role of public relations in tackling Nigeria’s escalating food crisis.

Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr. Femi Dokunmu, noted that Prof. Kehinde's invitation was influenced by FUNAAB's remarkable achievements in mitigating tomato scarcity in Southwestern Nigeria. FUNAAB, as a leading institution in agricultural research, has been at the forefront of addressing food security issues, making Prof. Kehinde a natural choice to lead this critical discourse.

The colloquium will explore how public relations can enhance collaboration between public and private sectors, driving synergy and innovative solutions to combat the food crisis. It aims to emphasize the importance of PR in fostering communication, cooperation, and resource mobilization to address one of the nation’s most pressing challenges.

The Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun, CON, is expected to grace the event as the Special Guest of Honour, underscoring the significance of the gathering for both public relations and food security in Nigeria.
