The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has officially rolled out admission into its newly approved Distance Learning Institute (DLI) for the 2025/2026 Academic Session, beginning with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Business Administration.
The announcement was made by the Acting Director of the Institute, Associate Professor Omolade Adeleke, who described the development as a major milestone in the university’s expansion of access to quality higher education.
According to Dr. Adeleke, the Distance Learning Institute was established under the Continuing Education Centre of the university, which she also pioneered. She recounted the “long but rewarding journey” that led to the institute’s approval by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

“The journey of the Distance Learning Institute in FUOYE started when I was appointed Director of the Continuing Education Centre in January 2023,” she said. “After rigorous preparation and two separate accreditation visits from Abuja, the NUC finally granted us approval to operate in July 2025.”
Dr. Adeleke, who had undergone extensive local and international training alongside her team, commended the university’s management under Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina, for its unwavering financial and institutional support throughout the accreditation process.
She noted that the newly approved programme is designed to accommodate working-class professionals and individuals with HND, OND, NCE, or O’Level qualifications who wish to upgrade their academic credentials through flexible online learning.
“This programme offers a rare opportunity for those who may not have the time to attend physical lectures due to work commitments,” she explained. “All lectures and assessments can be completed remotely using smartphones, laptops, or other smart devices — from anywhere in Nigeria or abroad.”
Dr. Adeleke added that while the NUC has currently approved only the Department of Business Administration for the takeoff phase, more courses will be introduced subsequently as the institute grows.
She encouraged prospective candidates to apply, assuring them of affordable tuition fees and high academic standards reflective of FUOYE’s commitment to excellence.
“We invite the public to take advantage of this opportunity. As a Federal University, we offer competitive fees and quality education that meets global standards,” Dr. Adeleke emphasized.
