FUTIA Pro Chancellor Participates in Strategic Workshop and Study Tour in Qatar
The Pro Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Federal University of Technology Ikot Abasi (FUTIA), Rt. Hon. Dr. Emaeyak Ukpong, represented the University at the recently concluded Strategic Workshop and Study Tour held in Doha, Qatar, from 25th to 27th November 2025.

The Pro Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Federal University of Technology Ikot Abasi (FUTIA), Rt. Hon. Dr. Emaeyak Ukpong, represented the University at the recently concluded Strategic Workshop and Study Tour held in Doha, Qatar, from 25th to 27th November 2025.
The event was themed “Leveraging High-Level Public–Private Partnership (PPP) for University Capital Development.”
Organized by the Committee of Pro-Chancellors (CPC) of Nigerian Universities, the workshop focused on exploring innovative approaches and global best practices for tertiary institution development in Nigeria, particularly through Public-Private Partnership models.
As part of the program, participants attended strategic sessions and seminars at the WISE Summit, engaging with international education leaders and key stakeholders to discuss the future of education and technology.
The panel featured global educators and notable figures, including the First Lady of Nigeria, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON; the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa; and the Secretary-General of the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (CVCNU), Professor Andrew Haruna. Other attendees included Pro Chancellors and Chairmen of Governing Councils of Nigerian tertiary institutions, with discussions covering issues critical to CPC objectives and the broader education landscape both nationally and globally.
FUTIA continues to leverage innovation as a catalyst for transformation and development across its academic and administrative structures.
