The Federal University of Technology Ikot Abasi (FUTIA) has formally taken delivery of two major projects: the School of Computing and Information Technology Academic Building and the perimeter fence with panel mesh installation around the facility.

Both projects were executed by Rampsky Investment Limited under the 2024 TETFund Annual Intervention.
During the handover ceremony at the University’s Permanent Campus on Monday, 9 February 2026, Vice-Chancellor Professor Leo Daniel described the occasion as historic, marking the completion of the first academic building at the Permanent Campus executed by an indigenous company. He noted that the facilities would allow immediate relocation of some academic programmes from the Take-off Campus, helping to alleviate congestion in existing spaces.
Professor Daniel highlighted FUTIA’s expanding infrastructural needs, with 24 departments across six schools, and confirmed that arrangements had been concluded for the construction of access and internal road networks as part of the University Master Plan.
He commended Rampsky Investment Limited, led by Managing Director/CEO Otobong Udoma, for quality and timely execution, as certified by the Practical Completion Certificate issued by the University’s Directorate of Physical Planning and Works Department. He also acknowledged the cooperation of relevant University directorates and host communities throughout the project.

Speaking for the contractor, Otobong Udoma expressed gratitude to the University Management, consultants, project staff, artisans, and suppliers, affirming that the projects were executed in full compliance with approved designs and specifications and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to quality and future collaborations with FUTIA.
Other speakers, including Engr. Dr. Paulinus Akpan (Acting Director, Physical Planning), Prof. Usen Udoh (Project Consultant), and the Village Head of Ikot Ukpo Inua, Etteidung Ettang Okon Benson, commended both the University and contractor for professionalism and workmanship.
In a vote of thanks, Registrar Mrs. Offiongita Nkang expressed gratitude to the Federal Government, TETFund, and its Executive Secretary, Arc. Sonny Echono, while appreciating the contractor and host communities for supporting a peaceful development environment.
The ceremony included the formal handover of keys, signing of the Project Completion Certificate, and inspection of the new facilities, with the University’s principal officers, Governing Council representatives, staff, and community members in attendance.

The projects are now ready, pending TETFund’s commissioning.
