Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu, is set to expand its academic offerings with the introduction of Pharmacy and Medical Laboratory Science programmes in the 2025-2026 academic session. This exciting announcement was made by the Vice Chancellor, Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke, during a recent address that outlined the university's ambitious growth and future plans.

In addition to these new health-related courses, the university has also upgraded its Computer Science department into the brand-new Faculty of Computing. This cutting-edge faculty will offer a range of programmes, including Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity. All courses in the Faculty of Computing will be taught using the latest technology, including smart boards and computers, reflecting the institution’s commitment to digital learning and innovation.

The College of Medicine at Godfrey Okoye University continues to make significant strides as well, with pioneer medical students set to take their 2nd MB examinations in March 2025. This marks a key milestone in their journey toward becoming licensed medical professionals. The university's Teaching Hospital in Enugu, equipped with a state-of-the-art Accident and Emergency Department, will soon welcome these students for their clinical training, enhancing their hands-on medical education.

The academic session of 2024-2025, branded as the “Cross Over Year,” reflects the university’s ambitious goals. Godfrey Okoye University aims to admit 1,000 new students and 350 postgraduate students while continuing its tradition of excellence. The institution also remains committed to enhancing its strong-performing programmes while phasing out underperforming ones, ensuring quality across all departments.
