Gombe State University Management Strengthens Community Ties During Visit to Nono District Farm Site
The Management of Gombe State University today paid a courtesy visit to Nono District in Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area as part of efforts to strengthen the cordial relationship between the University and its host community.
The delegation was led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Danladi Muhammed Umar, and included the Registrar of the University, Dr. Abubakar Aliyu Bafeto, as well as the Deputy Registrar (Establishment), Mallam Ibrahim Abubakar Difa.
The visit was aimed at appreciating the District Head Mal. Adamu S. Kudu and the people of Nono for their sustained cooperation and cordial relationship with the University since the allocation of land for the University’s farm project by the Executive Governor of Gombe State.
During the visit, the University delegation conveyed the institution’s gratitude to the community for their continued support, towards the University’s integrated farm project.
In his remarks, the District Head expressed appreciation to the University management for the visit and reaffirmed the commitment of the Nono community to support the vision of the State Government and the University. He noted that the community remains fully supportive of initiatives that will promote development and mutual benefit.
As part of the visit, the University presented a portrait of appreciation to the District Head in recognition of the community’s cooperation and support.
The District Head and members of the community later guided the University management team to the farm site, where they showed them the land boundaries, landmarks, and demarcations of the property.
It would be recalled that the Executive Governor of Gombe State had earlier handed over hectares of farmland to Gombe State University for the establishment of its Integrated University Farm.
Speaking during the visit, Professor Umar expressed appreciation to the District Head and the entire community for their consistent hospitality, support, and cooperation. He noted that the farm site has recently received numerous visitors and partners from within and outside Nigeria, describing the support of the host community as crucial to the success of the project.
